Ampatuan massacre a multiple murder case, not rebellion

>> Tuesday, March 30, 2010

If you are following up the Ampatuan massacre, you’ll know that a Quezon City judge has dismissed the rebellion case against the suspects and apparently, this should be a good thing because now they can concentrate more on the charge of multiple murder of innocent people. Ellen Tordesillas has the details that’s not to be missed.

The dismissal by a Quezon City judge of the rebellion case against Maguindanao governor Datu Andal Ampatuan Sr, his son, ARMM governor Zaldy Ampatuan and 22 others should strengthen the case filed by relatives of journalists who were among those killed in the November 23 massacre before the ASEAN Intergovernmental Human Rights Commission (AICHR).
The journalists’ relatives are holding the Arroyo government responsible for the Nov. 23 carnage. In their suit filed last February, the relatives said “Clearly, all of those responsible for the carnage are agents of the Philippine State. Their acts in connection with the 23 November 2009 Maguindanao massacre are attributable under international law to the Republic of the Philippines.”

This week, three of the petitioners, Glen Salaysay, son of Cotabato City journalist Napoleon Salaysay, Noemi Parcon, wife of Koronadal City journalist Joel Parcon, and Feulen Sumagang, cousin of UNTV reporter Julito Evardo, were in Jakarta, where the AICHR is based, to follow up on their suit accompanied by their lawyer, Harry Roque of the CenterLaw Philippines.
They were most disgusted to find out that the Arroyo government has taken the stand that the Maguindanao massacre that has shocked the world and earned for the Philippines the distinction of being the most dangerous place for members of media is “a domestic legal issue” and international human rights bodies have no business meddling in.
Roque disagrees.“It cannot be a domestic issue,” he said, “since the Philippine government has violated its obligations under international law to protect the fundamental rights of its citizens, including the right to life. Such rights are embodied in human treaties to which the government is a party.”
In their petition, the victims’ families said the state also violated its “duty not to provide impunity, considering that its very own agents were behind the slaughter and it failed to prevent them from carrying it out.”
Roque cited the request of the Vice Mayor Esmail “Toto” Mangudadatu, the political rival of Ampatuans for protection, not only from the military but from no less than the defense secretary, but didn’t get any.
“It cannot be a domestic issue,” Roque said, since the Philippine government has violated its obligations under international law to protect the fundamental rights of its citizens, including the right to life. Such rights are embodied in human treaties to which the government is a party.
It is common knowledge that Gloria Arroyo has coddled the Ampatuans despite their corruption and shocking human rights records because the warlords manipulated the results of the 2004 elections in her favor which overturned the lead of her rival Fernando Poe, Jr.
In the 2007 elections, it was 12-0 in favor of the administration senatorial candidates.
Roque also cited the interview of one of the gunmen in the massacre who is now willing to testify which described the closeness of Arroyo and the Ampatuans. The prospective witness who is only known as “Jesse” said when Arroyo visit Maguindanao, he called Andal Sr, “Ama” (father) while Andal Jr, who led the killing of at least 53 people on that terrible day of Nov 23, called Arroyo, “Ina” (mother).
Roque’s connection of Arroyo with the Ampatuans is corroborated by Sen. Aquilino Pimentel, Jr who issued a statement saying it was not surprising that the rebellion charges against the Ampatuans were dismissed by a Quezon City judge.
Pimentel said “rebellion” was the wrong charge.” The massacre was pure and simple multiple murders of innocent people” he said.
Pimentel said rebellion charges were intentionally filed first even if any lawyer would have told the government prosecutors there was no evidence that backed them up just so the Arroyo administration would not be suspected of not doing anything to apply the law against “the family who is one of the most useful tools of manipulating the will of the people in their turf in Maguindanao.”
“It was a non-case, filed with deceptive motives, and pursued with hypocritical zeal that the Arroyo government chose to do in order to mislead the people that it was upholding the law even against the warlords it was coddling in the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao,” Pimentel said.
Roque said since the government enjoys immunity from suit it cannot be sued in Philippine courts without its consent. As such, only an international organization such as the AICHR can assume jurisdiction over the Philippines on matters involving violations of certain fundamental freedoms.

Does Villar have any idea what it's like to be really poor?

Does Villar have an idea what it's like to be really poor as in "isang kahig, isang tuka"? Is he misleading himself thinking people is that dumb and stupid to believe his story?

Among the public documents obtained by Philippine Star columnist William Esposo are the death certificate of Danny B. Villar, and the Transfer Certificate of Title (TCT number: 135396/3194) of the 560-square-meter property in the upper class San Rafael Village of Navotas where the Villars had lived when Danny died.

According to Esposo, the documents "shattered this once poor fantasy that Villar has been peddling. “

LP senatorial candidate Risa Hontiveros said Villar’s false claim was “scandalous and an insult to the real poor in the country.”

She challenged Villar to use the Holy Week to “repent.”

But perhaps, Villar was just comparing their standard of living then and now which can never be considered as poor because they had money not to be admitted but to be able to afford the hospital bills from FEU, a private hospital then that catered to the rich, just to name a few.

Esposo said the documents show that the Villars bought a 560-square-meter property in Tondo before 1962, and this was located in an "gated subdivision" of families who were not poor. He added that a poor family would have been happy to have a 100-square-meter property.

He also said that Villar's father must have been earning a sizeable income as a government employee to be able able to borrow P16,000 from the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS). He noted that in 1962, senior executives in big corporations made monthly salaries of about P2,000.

He also belied Villar's political ad which refers to a "sea of garbage." During the 1950s, he said there was still no such thing in Metro Manila.
"I was born 1949. The sea of garbage in Metro Manila only happened in the middle part of martial law," he claimed.

Here is the video that prompted some people to investigate and react:

Nakakalula ang pag-gastos ni Villar sa kanyang campaign. Hindi ko kinaya.

Gastos ni Villar sa pol. ads - Nielsen, P.5 milyon kada oras
(Pilipino Star Ngayon) Updated March 29, 2010 12:00 AM

Noynoy Aquino (P356 milyon); dating Pang. Joseph Estrada (P93 milyon); ex-DND Sec. Gilbert Teodoro (P473 milyon); Sen. Richard Gordon (P246 milyon); at, Bro. Eddie Villanueva (P103 milyon).

(May ulat nina Doris Franche at Mer Layson)

Kris at Ruffa, hindi pa nag-babatian

>> Wednesday, March 24, 2010

I’m already looking forward.”

May nag-text!

Ann Curtis’ famous nipple slip photo

I got a copy of the uncensored photos but of course I won't embarrass Ann Curtis more by posting them here.

Kris Aquino moving on

>> Thursday, March 18, 2010

Kris is not leaving The Buzz after realizing her real standing in her brother Noynoy's campaign which proves her critics to be wrong:

MANILA, Philippines - Kris Aquino on Thursday she would not leave "The Buzz," which came after her tearful statements Sunday.

However, she said she would be seen less frequently on the show, as she would be on the campaign trail more often. (Watch: Kris Aquino answers ‘Buzz’-ing question in Ilocos sortie)

Kris made the statement during a campaign sortie for her brother, Senator Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III, who is running for president, in the Ilocos Region.

Regarding her presence in the daily showbiz talk show Showbiz News Ngayon, she praised her temporary replacements Mariel Rodriguez, Bianca Gonzales, and Toni Gonzaga.

"Si Toni, Bianca and Mariel, kina-career talaga nila yung pagdadamit, talagang super bonggacious ang mga outfit nila, [and] the rapport, most especially halatang-halata kasi si Boy dahil si Mariel alaga niya so favorite niya talaga," she told ABS-CBN News's Mario Dumaual.

"They're doing such a great job, Mario... it's really excellent na nabigyan sila ng chance na ito, and by all means, ako, happy ako to share it with them," she said when asked if she would be willing to return to SNN.

"Nasa sa inyo po iyan. They're doing OK right now, it's something we have to discuss also. Kasi Mario, nami-miss ko na rin, I've been remiss as a parent... so I think pagkatapos [ng kampanya] kailangan bumawi sa mga anak," she said.

'Overwhelmed' by Ilocanos' reception

Meanwhile, said she was overwhelmed by the reception the campaign of her brother received in their visit to the Ilocos region.

"History has really moved on," the TV host said during their historic first visit to the region where their family's traditional rival, the Marcoses, hail from. (Read: Aquino campaigns in Marcos country)

Kris said that while on the plane to Laoag City, she had been praying for fear that no one would be greeting them on their arrival at the airport.

She said she remembered that back in the 1980s, visits by her late mother, former president Corazon Aquino, was met by residents closing their doors and windows.

"Our politics has really matured through time," she said.

She was also accompanied by her husband, basketball player James Yap. With reports from Mario Dumaual, ABS-CBN News

New York Post: Charice newly crowned pop princess

MANILA, Philippines - International singer Charice has been dubbed a "newly crowned pop princess" by the New York Post.

Charice's song "Pyramid" was cited in New York Post's PopWrap's fave five article for March 17. (http://www.nypost.com/p/blogs/popwrap/popwrap_fave_five_dHI00FY5PWSGTY83...) It identified Charice as a "new little chick...who's mountain-and-valley vocals (that means range, kids) are the only reason you will need to fall in love with her sound."

The article also featured four other songs including Psapp's "Mister Ant," Lady GaGa's "Telephone: an Electrolightz remix," Gin Wigmore's "Don't Stop" and Matisse's "Better Than Her." It added that this week's fave five "will have your bottom uncontrollably shimmying out of your kilt."

In an e-mail sent to abs-cbnNEWS.com, Charice said that she's happy that her talent is being recognized not only by her fellow Filipinos but by a lot of Americans as well.

"I really can't believe po na kasama ko sa iisang topic si Lady Gaga. Super Fan po niya ako. To be crowned as the New Pop Princess it's really a honor for me. Nanginig ako nung nabasa ko. Feeling ko, ang laking responsibilidad kasi po dating Pop Princess si Britney Spears po. Nagpapasalamat po ako hindi lang po sa mga Pinoy na sumusuporta sa akin kundi lahat po ng supporters sa iba't ibang bansa. Mapa-Amerikano man po o kahit ano po, salamat po sa lahat," Charice said.

Charice said she is happy that her single "Pyramid" has been downloaded over a million times despite tough competition from other pop artists.

"Super happy po ako. New York Post is really BIG. And really happy na ako yung napili nila na i-crown as New Pop Princess, although there's a lot of teen artists po talaga dito sa Amerika na magaling po talagang pop singers. I wanna thank them po sa pagpili nila sa akin. And thanks po sa lahat ng nagview ng Pyramid ko, it's finally over 1M views! I can't wait po na makita nila yung official music video. Though wala pa pong exact date. But I'm sure ilalabas na po ito soon. Nakita ko na po kanina and it's really inspirational. I hope magustuhan po nila."

Currently, Charice is in the United States to work on her first international album "Charice: A Star Is Born." The album will be launched on May 11, or a day after her 18th birthday.

Villar story confirmed he was never poor

>> Monday, March 15, 2010

Villar kept bragging about his rags to riches story but this article tells us a different story:

THE MARCH 7 ARTICLE ON Manny Villar’s house along Moriones Street in Tondo confirmed the belief that he was never poor, never spent his Christmas on the street and never swam in a pool of garbage. In the early 1960s, if you had a three-story house in a 60-square-meter lot in the business district of Tondo, you were considered an aristocrat.

Not too far from that Moriones house were shanties leading to the pier where children went to the nearby public schools for education. Such was not the case of Villar: he went to Holy Child Catholic School for his elementary education and to Mapua for high school. Coming from Moriones going to Mapua, Villar had to pass by three outstanding public high schools: Jose Abad Santos High School, Arellano High School and Teodora Agoncillo High School, and public schools in the latter part of the 1950s and 1960s were at their best.

But not for the Villar children. Because their father was a white-collar employee and they had a businesswoman for a mother, Manny and his siblings were able to studyin the best private schools nearby. They had corned beef for breakfast (as told in Villar’s ad with Boy Abunda) and I am pretty sure suahe and other seafoods for lunch or dinner.

During the times that Villar claimed he was poor, his family actually belonged to the AB and upper C economic strata or the top 10 percent of the population. As in the C-5 controversy, in the conversion of agricultural land in Iloilo, in the landgrabbing of the Dumagats’ land in Norzagaray and his questionable use of socialized housing funds among many others, Villar shows a penchant for covering the truth.

I hope television’s investigative journalists can dig deeper into this so the poor people who are being used will find out the truth.

Palace threatened by Kris’ tears?

Kris poured out her sentiments in The Buzz yesterday and a lot of people were touched. I was. I felt her pain for her family especially for Noynoy. For palace to come out to remind the voters not to get carried away by Kris’ tears, they must be really threatened. Kris has made many mistakes in life and who hasn’t? Only the perfect can cast the first stone. But no one is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes. The only difference is that Kris is never afraid to talk about hers. She is very transparent, honest, and vocal. And there’s nothing wrong with that.

Pacquiao's earnings from boxing, 2001 - 2010

People are wondering how much Manny Pacquiao has earned from his fights through out the years. Well, from 2001-2010, he made a total of $78,480,000.00. But of course, he probably took home much less than that considering the taxes and expenses to be deducted. But nevertheless, Manny Pacquiao is now one of the richest man in the Philippines and he can proudly say it’s all from hard work and lots of sacrifices.

Bishops warn voters vs overspending candidates

>> Saturday, March 13, 2010

It’s so easy to guess who the bishops were referring too since the whole Philippines, or perhaps even the world know who has the billions who has been spending like crazy on campaign ads.

With more than P2 billion already spent by candidates on political advertisements alone, this year’s election is touted to be the most expensive in the country’s history, according to Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism (PCIJ) executive director Malou Mangahas.

“Everybody seems to be spending like crazy on advertisements," Mangahas said in a forum earlier this week.

The prelates also stressed that voters should choose candidates who are “God-fearing; moral; not given to vices; reverent of life and its deserved decency," those with real concern for the environment and the poor, and those that provide good examples of responsible Filipino citizenship.

“Although this statement is just telling voters to use their conscience, ’yung statement na ‘yan is partisan. They (the bishops) are directing it against one candidate at maliwanag na si Villar ’yun.," Lim told GMANews.TV in a telephone interview.

Villar has spent over P1 billion on campaign advertisements since November last year, according to AGB Nielsen.

Asked why the pastoral statement may have been directed against Villar, Lim answered, “Hindi natin alam kung bakit, pero siguro gustong ipakita ng Simbahan that they don’t want people who spend too much for votes, which they believe is immoral."

Based on studies conducted by AGB Nielsen, Senator Manuel Villar of the Nacionalista Party is so far the biggest spender in television advertisements alone, amounting to P1.3 billion from November 1 last year to March 2 this year.

Gordon: Villar is ‘fooling the poor’

>> Friday, March 12, 2010

Senator Gordon just had it with Senator Villar's exploitation of the poor in his TV Ads:

Bagumbayan standard-bearer Richard Gordon on Friday chided fellow presidential candidate Manuel Villar Jr. for “fooling the poor" with his campaign advertisements, saying the Nacionalista Party (NP) bet has done nothing to alleviate poverty while in office.

Gordon said Villar seems to be “exploiting" the poor with his TV ads, where the NP presidential bet claims he will end poverty in the country.

“There’s too much exploitation of the poor. Parang niloloko ang mga mahihirap (It appears that he is fooling the poor)," he said of Villar’s advertisements after speaking at the Chamber of Thrift Banks (CTB) National Convention in Makati City on Friday.

Gordon likewise questioned Villar’s track record, asking what his fellow senator has done to help the poor while in office.

“When you look at his track record, naging Speaker, naging Senate President, naging congressman, naging senador. Bakit ngayon lang biglang haharap sa mga mahihirap? Ano’ng ginawa niya noong nandun sya?" he said.

“All the bills he signed were to enhance housing," he added.

Villar, a housing industry businessman and the country’s richest senator, served three terms in the Lower House from 1992 to 2001, and was Speaker from 1998 to 2000. After that, he served as senator from 2001 up to the present, and was Senate President from 2006 to 2008. He has been in the Congress for almost 18 years.

Judy Ann Santos is two months pregnant

MANILA, Philippines (2nd UPDATE) - Young Superstar Judy Ann Santos and her husband, host-actor Ryan Agoncillo, on Friday confirmed that she is two months pregnant with their first child.

Agoncillo held up an ultrasound image of their baby during Friday's episode of "Eat Bulaga," where Agoncillo is a co-host.

In an interview on TV Patrol World, Judy Ann said she had an ultrasound done early Friday to confirm that she was indeed pregnant.

"My pregnancy test was already positive but we didn't want to announce it because the obstetrician said we should hold off until there was a heartbeat," she said.

"We waited until we were really sure since we didn't want to give false hope to people."

She said she and her husband had been praying for a baby after getting married last April 28, 2009 in San Juan, Batangas. "We've been waiting for this for so long after the wedding. It was really good timing," she said.

Santos said that she had no preference on the baby's gender as long as the baby is healthy.

She added that because of the pregnancy, she would have to take it slow when it comes to work.

Aside from tapings for her hit Kapamilya teleserye "Habang May Buhay," Santos is also starring in 2 movies, one under Viva Films with Sarah Geronimo and another under Unitel, with Marilou Diaz-Abaya at the helm.

"Extra careful lang sa work, medyo magbabawas lang ng konti sa trabaho, pero tatapusin ko lahat ng nasimulan bago mag-bakasyon ng dire-diretso para maging safe ang baby at maging safe din ako," Santos said in a separate interview.

Asked what her message was to her husband, Santos joked: "Basta pondohan niya lang yong mga bata."

The TV Patrol World report said Santos has started developing a craving for "white food" including panna cotta, macaroni soup and turnips.

Gladys Reyes, Santos' co-star in the long running series "Mara Clara", also congratulated the couple upon learning the news.

"I'm very, very happy for both of them. It's a big blessing. Ano pa ba ang mahihiling natin sa kanila? Kumpleto na!" she said.

Agoncillo and Santos were first paired in the teleserye "Krystala" where their romance blossomed. They have starred in two movies together, "Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo" and "Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo" -- both of which have been box office hits.

Agoncillo proposed marriage to Santos on her 30th birthday in May 2008.

Who will sing at Pacquiao-Clottey fight?

>> Thursday, March 11, 2010

It’s Arnel Pineda and it’s confirmed.
Arnel Pineda, the Filipino front man of popular American rock band "Journey," will sing the Philippine national anthem in Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao’s much-awaited fight with Ghanaian Joshua "The Grand Master" Clottey on March 13 (March 14 in Manila) at the Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, Texas.

"Pupunta ako sa Dallas to sing sa laban ni Manny [Pacquiao].This Thursday [ang alis ko]. (I am going to Dallas this Thursday to sing in Pacquiao's fight.)," Pineda said.
"I'm really happy kasi matutuloy na. Nahihiya na ako kay Manny kasi pangatlong invitation na ito sa akin. Baka kasi isipin ay iniisnab ko. So finally, matutuloy na. (This is my third invitation from Manny who might think I'm snubbing him. I'm happy this is finally pushing through), " he said.
The crooner said he was not able to sing in Pacquiao's previous fights because of his hectic schedule as Journey's vocalist.
Pineda, who was introduced over the phone to Pacquiao by common friends, was also present during the boxer's birthday party in General Santos last December.
Pineda is currently part of ABS-CBN's weekly variety show "ASAP XV."

What parents can learn from a 7-Year-Old 911 Hero

This terrifying and at the same time heart-warming news can give all parents something to learn and teach their children in times of danger. Sometimes, parents doesn't realize that children can learn if properly trained. This boy is a good example and I congratulate the parents of this boy for such a job well done.

His panicked voice was heartbreaking. But the 7-year-old California boy hailed as a hero for calling 911 while gunmen tore through his house showed poise and quick thinking well beyond his years.

The gunmen are still on the loose, but parents and experts are now using the call for help made by the boy only known as Carlos as an example of why children should be taught from an early age to call 911.

"Can you come really fast, hurry up," he pleaded with dispatcher Monique Patino, later adding, "and bring soldiers too."

Police say Carlos was also able to give them some good leads on the suspects.

Kris Aquino apologized and so should Annabelle Rama

>> Tuesday, March 9, 2010

For their reactions, Annabelle Rama and Raymond Gutierrez have said hurtful words to Kris Aquino as well, and Annabelle was totally out of line for involving Noynoy Aquino on the issue. Now that Kris Aquino has humbled down and apologized to both Ruffa and Annabelle Rama, only an apology coming from the Gutierrez family to Noynoy Aquino especially, will close this issue.

Here is what I think of this: Kris Aquino is tactless and that’s a given. She’s born with the gift of gab and is perfect to host any talk show. She is fearless, bold, articulate, and intelligent. But she is also sensitive and quick to ask for forgiveness once she realizes that she has crossed the line and has hurt someone. Kris tells us as it is – because she’s honest and straight forward. Hence, the title Queen of All Media. On the other hand, Ruffa, who is gentle, sensitive, and emotional, is also as smart and makes a lot of sense in her comments but a no match to gabbers like Kris and Boy. What she needs is not a talk show like The Buzz but a beauty show where she can show her own expertise. But then when is Ruffa going to be independent? When can she learn to fly on her own? Has she ever tried thinking on her own without Annabelle dictating everything to her? But then I also understand that it must be hard to have a mother like Annabelle who wouldn’t let her children go and grow up.

I’ve seen so many talk shows and some of them are really brutal. In case you have not seen one, a talk show in the US called “The View” is a very good example. The four women hosting the show chats, discuss, and argue with each other and sometimes I wonder if this or that host will still show up the next day. But off air, they all claim that they have camaraderie and hangs out together as friends. To them, the talk show is just a job that they have to do well.

Ruffa Gutierrez accepts Kris Aquino's apology

All is well that ends well. Kris apologized, Ruffa accepted. Erwin Santiago/PEP reports:

(CLICK HERE to read related story.)

(CLICK HERE to read related story.)

"Ang sinabi ni Ate [Ballsy], 'Siguro Krissy dapat i-consider mo rin what it's like to be saying goodbye. And siguro on our family's end, kung tayo naka-cause ng pain para sa kanila, or nabigyan sila ng stress dahil sa hindi mo naman sinasadyang nagawa, take it upon yourself and do this for Mom,' sabi ng ate pa," kuwento ng bunsong anak nina former President Cory Aquino at former Senator Ninoy Aquino.

Pero buong-buo, galing sa puso ko, na hinahangad ko all your success in this world."

RUFFA SPEAKS UP.

"I do appreciate and accept Kris's apology," nakangiting sabi ni Ruffa sa panayam sa kanya ng TV Patrol World.

Aniya pa, "Ako naman, you know, I'm a very fun-loving individual at  kaibigan ko rin naman si Kris, and I have the highest respect for her. I know that we love each other, and I know that we've been friends for a long, long time."

Kris Aquino tactless but not a bad person

>> Monday, March 8, 2010

For those who are as tackless as Kris, you will understand Kris better. But one thing why Kris' attitude is always forgiven is her quickness to ask for forgiveness, humbling herself right after she realizes she's hurt someone and that is admirable. On the other hand, it's in Ruffa's nature to be gentle and harmless but she should never allow herself to be intimidated by Kris because anywhere she'll go in showbiz, there will always be someone with Kris-like attitude. But I've watched every episode of The Buzz and I can tell that Ruffa do make a lot of sense in her comments. She's not dumb. She's not stupid either. She just know how to carry herself well at all time.

If I may borrow some comments from MADER BIBS:

I admire you Kris for taking the initiative to clear out the issues between you and Ruffa. I hope this would end the misunderstanding.

I admire Kris' humility. For me, there was nothing wrong with what she said. And yet because some people were displeased (or should I say making a big deal out of nothing just to create controversy hoping that it would work to their advantage), Kris went out of her way to say sorry. Call her maarte, tactless, etc. but for me, Kris is one of the sincerest, most admirable, generous and professional people from the entertainment industry. God bless you and your family, Kris! We love you!

This is in reply to the one who made a comment regarding the alleged "deliberate alienation" ni Kris kay Ruffa sa the Buzz. POV is a segment specially designed for free exchange of views and opinions. If you think Kris made Ruffa look dumb, that's your opinion. But it's not Kris' fault. It is Ruffa's own look-out to keep up with Kris' wit. Look at Boy. "Nagbabarahan" din sila ni Kris if that's how you call it. But professional and intelligent as he is, Boy is able to keep up with her. The problem with Ruffa is she just can't. She still has so much to learn esp when it comes to hosting a talkshow. Likewise, the problem with Pinoys is that we can't seem to accept a person's frankness. We always take things personally. We can't discuss issues without feeling as if they're directed against us. Lastly, I wish people will take this issue in a mature and professional way. There really is no issue to begin with. People are just overreacting to something and for what reason - gimmick? politics? only the ones concerned know. God bless everyone.

Kris Aquino's Statement Tonight
>> Monday, March 8, 2010

I had dinner with Noy tonight after his tv commercial shoot.
He told me di raw ba pwede na may quiet Sunday kami?
And he asked why sya nadamay when he's not even part of the Buzz
I would like to extend a loving hug to Ruffa.
I viewed the tape and although I still feel I gave my comment with affection.
Maybe it made her feel even worse because she's moving in a new direction.
We had what I believed was a good working relationship in the almost 2 years we were together on the Buzz.
I can also understand why Ruffa's mom dislikes Noynoy and my family.
Maybe because of association and our vocal proclamation of admiration for Dingdong.
And his selfless contribution to help Noy's presidential bid.
It is with Ruffa that I enjoyed a healthy working relationship with.
And I only have good words to say about her.
To Ruffa, I sincerely apologize for causing you hurt.
My brother Noynoy would like to add that we live in a democracy.
One where we are very free to make our own choice for president.
This text came from my sister Pinky : Tomorrow is Women's day.
And March is women's month. Fyi, it was mom who passed laws making this possible.
(Proclamation No. 224 and 227, both signed in March 1988).
And RA 6949 (signed April 1990 - declares March 8 as National Women's Day.
We celebrate women who triumphed despite odds and need to look at ways to further improve.
That's why I want Ruffa to have a great career ahead of her because she is a woman.
Raising two beautiful daughters, and I champion all women who triumph despite the odds.
Just like my own mom.
Noy told me in any election, we'll have our share of supporters and harshest critics.
And if you can't take the heat, then politics isn't for you.
As a woman, and as Ruffa's mom and the lola of Lorin and Venice, I respect you Tita Anabelle.
And on behalf of our family, I apologize for the distress we caused yours.
On a last note, I promised Noy that if he does WIN, and I'm a cause of stress for him and his presidency..
I will gladly take my two boys to live anywhere there's TFC.
So that I can continue to work but with our Overseas Filipino brothers and sisters.
Of course Noy said - dinner daw yun - hindi teleserye ko.
I love my family and I'm so grateful to have such a supportive and grounded brother and sisters,
Who have learned to love me for what I am.

Ruffa Gutierrez walks out, Kris Aquino apologizes

First, watch what happened that made Ruffa walk out from The Buzz. Read also the article here:

Then, Annabelle Rama lambasts Kris:

Kris Aquino apologizes to Ruffa Gutierrez:
Erwin Santiago/PEP

"I had dinner w/ Noy tonight [March 7] after his tvc shoot. He told me di raw ba pwede na may quiet Sunday kami? And he asked y sya nadamay when he's not even part of Buzz.

Gov. Vi - example of an ideal and fearless leader

Governor Vi is a very good example of what an incorrupt leader could do to implement the law and give justice to the poor and the nature.

First, she listened to scientists and lake community leaders who were alarmed by the slow death of a vital resource and the muddy taste of some lake-caught fish. Then Recto took charge, devoting government funds and key personnel and staking her own reputation on what was not initially a popular undertaking.

Thousands living in several lakeside towns were dependent on the fish-cage industry for their livelihoods. Fish cage owners fueled a thriving web of local government corruption. Moreover, some raised the specter of hunger if fish cages were reduced. Much of the tilapia and bangus supply in Metro Manila come from Taal Lake.

“We had been waiting for a long time for the government to look after our problems and support our cause," said Milagros Chavez, chair of the Kilusan ng Maliliit na Mga Mangingisda sa Lawa ng Taal (KMMLT), a Taal Lake people’s organization. Chavez added that only Recto showed any political will.

“If you have good intentions, you won’t be afraid (to implement the law)," Recto told GMANews.TV in an interview. “My intentions are clear. In the first place, they (fish cages) are illegal, that’s why you have to remove them even if you don’t want to."

She revealed that pressure was coming from businessmen and their political patrons to go slow on her cage dismantling campaign.

“What can I do? Maybe they cannot appreciate it now. But if they see how beautiful the lake has become again - there was no fish kill this year, fish catches were abundant - they will appreciate it later on," Recto said.
