Arnold Schwarzenegger cheated and fathered a child

>> Tuesday, May 17, 2011

When the news broke that Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver separated, I guessed that the reason was infidelity on Arnold's part. Watch this.

SAN FRANCISCO - Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has acknowledged that he fathered a child more than ten years ago with a member of his household staff, the Los Angeles Times reported on Tuesday.

In a statement made in response to questions from the newspaper, Schwarzenegger said: "After leaving the governor's office I told my wife about this event, which occurred over a decade ago."

"I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family. There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused. I have apologized to Maria, my children and my family. I am truly sorry."

A spokesman for Schwarzenegger did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Schwarzenegger, 63, and his wife, Maria Shriver, last week announced they had separated earlier this year. They have been married 25 years and have four children.

The woman involved with Schwarzenegger was not named by the newspaper. However, when contacted by the Los Angeles Times on Monday before the ex-governor issued his statement, she said she had retired in January after 20 years of working with the family. She told the newspaper her then-husband was the child's father.

Later Monday, the woman had no comment when the newspaper informed her of Schwarzenegger's statement.

Shriver, 55, an author and former journalist for NBC, is active with a number of volunteer organizations.

Her mother was the sister of assassinated U.S. President John F. Kennedy and her father, Sargent Shriver, was the Democratic candidate for vice president in 1972. Sargent Shriver died in January at the age of 95.

Though a lifelong Democrat, Shriver campaigned for her Republican husband when he sought to recall and replace then-Governor Gray Davis, a Democrat, in 2003.

She took to the stump to help Schwarzenegger win re-election in 2006.

Since leaving office after two terms as governor, Schwarzenegger has maintained a public life and is planning to star in another version of the "Terminator" movie franchise that made him famous, one industry source has said. — Reuters

Cool Wazoo - really cool!

>> Monday, May 16, 2011

If you are thinking of buying a gift for a new mom, here is one that I'm sure will be loved and appreciated.

The Cool Wazoo is a pad that you can use five ways – in a restaurant high chair, on a swing, in a car seat, in a grocery cart or as a changing pad – to protect your child. It’s heat resistant, water resistant and germ-resistant. It was invented by a stay-at-home mom after her daughter was accidentally burned on a swing that had been overheated by the sun. She funded the idea with her own money and hired a seamstress to come up with the prototype. Though this clever mom originally intended the Cool Wazoo as just a protector for the swing, after consulting Lucky Napkin, she turned the product into a five-in-one to make it more marketable. It sells for $65 in some boutiques and on the company’s web site -- but coming soon, a $19.99 version will be sold in big retail stores.

Pacquiao's response on steroid use twitted by Mosley

>> Friday, May 13, 2011

Apparently, this is what Mosley twitted that made Bob Arum unhappy:

“These are not my words it comes from an article and his sparring partner but if it is true! Then what do you say, please google,” tweeted Mosley. His girlfriend has twitted the same earlier.

I wonder if Mosley twitted this because he believed it or he just wants people to think that this is reason he lost. Did he forget that Pacquiao, in all his kindness and mercy was kind of easy with him during their fight and he still lost?

Here is Pacquiao's response:
"It's false, fabricated. An anonymous post on an internet forum claims an unidentified former Filipino sparring partner injected me with steroids before my fight with Oscar de la Hoya and in subsequent fights,” aniya. “This is completely false, totally fabricated, and, not surprisingly, leveled by someone who will not even identify himself. I did not even have a Filipino sparring partner during my training for the fight against De La Hoya or for any fight since then.”

“I have never taken steroids, HGH, or any banned performance-enhancing drug. Period. My success in the ring is due to hard work, belief in God, and the support of my fans. Like every boxer, I am required to take drug tests in connection with every professional fight in the United States. I have passed everyone, including my fight against De La Hoya and my most recent victory against Shane Mosley.

“I will fight to protect my hard-earned good name and reputation.”

Excellent choice. Ashton is very funny and perfect for the role.

From People:
The speculation is over. Ashton Kutcher Is Replacing Charlie Sheen on Two and a Half Men.
Ashton Kutcher, 33, is officially taking over for Charlie Sheen on Two and a Half Men, CBS announced on Friday.

Oprah’s grand finale's guess: Will and Jada Pinkett Smith

>> Thursday, May 12, 2011

From The Daily:Cementing their place in history as two of Oprah Winfrey’s favorite guests, Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett Smith will appear May 25 on the daytime talk queen’s final show, Flash has learned exclusively.

Speculation about who will appear on the mystery-shrouded last episode has been building as Oprah ends her 25-year run of “The Oprah Show.” Fans’ and journalists’ guesses have included Oprah’s longtime love Stedman Graham, Tom Cruise, Dr. Phil McGraw, Jennifer Aniston and Gabrielle Giffords. It’s not clear how many guests will appear on the final show. And there’s no word on whether the Smiths’ famous kids — “Karate Kid” star Jaden Smith and “Whip My Hair” singer Willow Smith — will join their parents on the couch.

The season already has featured President Obama and Michelle Obama, Michael Douglas, Johnny Depp, and today’s guest Sarah Ferguson. Since the Smiths and the Cruises are close friends, though, we wouldn’t be surprised if Tom and Katie Holmes did end up showing up — maybe to jump on that couch one last time?

The last week of the show also will feature a two-episode rematch between Oprah and James Frey, the controversial writer of “A Million Little Pieces,“ which is being teased as ”the biggest controversy in Oprah show history.”

Speaking of a million little pieces, Oprah’s Harpo Productions is asking $1 million for 30-second commercials for the last week of the show.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver are separating

>> Monday, May 9, 2011

I was in disbelief when I heard this sad news because they are one of the few couples that I thought have a good marriage. I hate news like this. But of course we don't know what their family are going through. I just pray that things will still work out for their marriage and family.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver announced Monday night they are separating.

In a joint statement released Monday night, Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger announced they are amicably separating.

"This has been a time of great personal and professional transition for each of us. After a great deal of thought, reflection, discussion, and prayer, we came to this decision together. At this time, we are living apart, while we work on the future of our relationship.

"We are continuing to parent our four children together. They are the light and the center of both of our lives.

"We consider this a private matter, and neither we nor any of our friends or family will have further comment.

"We ask for compassion and respect from the media and the public."

The couple has been married for 25 years.

Will and Kate adopted a cute little thing

>> Friday, May 6, 2011

Prince William and his new wife Catherine have adopted an endangered baby penguin called Acorn, a British zoo revealed on Friday.

But Acorn will not be not be moving in with the royal newlyweds any time soon, Chester Zoo

He will instead remain at the zoo in north-west England with 49 other Humbolt penguins.

"Hopefully the happy couple will come and see little Acorn playing in his pool very soon," said a spokesman for the zoo, which gave the penguin to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as a wedding present.

"It's a real honour to be able to boast Prince William and Kate as penguin adopters."

The zoo had asked followers on social networking sites to choose which of its 400 different species the couple should sponsor.

The Humbolt penguins, which are thought to be declining in number due to overfishing of their food and habitat loss, received more than 20 percent of the votes.

The breed is native to several South American countries including Chile, where both William and Catherine spent part of their gap years. [AFP via Yahoo}

Lady Gaga's Judas music video

In an interview, Lady Gaga said:

"'Judas' is a metaphor and an analogy about forgiveness and betrayal and things that haunt you in your life and how I believe that it's the darkness in your life that ultimately shines and illuminates the greater light that you have upon you."

But Catholic League President Bill Donohue said in a statement:
"This is a stunt... Lady Gaga tries to continue to shock Catholics and Christians in general: she dresses as a nun... she swallows the rosary. She has now morphed into a caricature of herself,"

To me, I just take this Judas music video as pure entertainment with no real meaning and no spiritual touch at all. It's to the viewer to decide if this is offensive for them or not.

Another sad bullying story

I'm a bully
Bullying + anger + jealousy = death. This is a dangerous behavior but why are we not doing anything to stop this from happening? Too many talks but nothing has been done to end this. I pray that people would join forces to fight bullying where present regardless of who and what he/she is. Protect the innocent and let's protect them now!

Actions not taken by peers could have saved young girl’s lifeBy Kevin Cullen
Globe Columnist / May 5, 2011

Kayla Narey stood in a courtroom in Northampton, talking to a dead girl.

“I’m sorry for the unkind things I said about you,’’ Kayla said to Phoebe Prince, who killed herself 16 months ago.

Kayla and other kids made Phoebe’s life at South Hadley High School a living hell, bullying and shaming her to the point that Phoebe took a scarf that her little sister had given her for Christmas and hanged herself.

“I am immensely ashamed of myself,’’ Kayla said.

Since Phoebe’s suicide, we as a society have grown up a little when it comes to how we look at bullying, and Kayla has grown up enough to engage in some introspection.

“Phoebe,’’ she said, still talking to the dead girl, “I wish we could go back to December . . . 2009.’’

It was then that Phoebe approached Kayla, having found out that they had been dating the same two-timer: Sean Mulveyhill, the football star.

Phoebe had gone out with Sean, not knowing that Sean and Kayla were still an item, an on-again, off-again romance.

Phoebe did something unsolicited, brave, and considerate: She apologized to Kayla. They sat on a bench, the two girls used by the same boy, and they talked.

Kayla’s immediate reaction showed some insight. “I have more respect for you than for my boyfriend,’’ she told Phoebe.

Kayla then sent a text to Sean: “We’re done.’’

Oh, the what ifs. What if only Kayla’s emotions had not changed? What if, because of Phoebe’s overture, Kayla and Phoebe became friends? At the least, they could have become allies, part of a Second Girlfriends club, warning other girls about the cad who used them.

But Christmas vacation came, and Kayla was overtaken by, in her own words, “hurt, anger, and jealousy.’’ She still wanted Sean, and she wanted Phoebe to pay.

She started talking about Phoebe behind her back. It fed a wider conspiracy against Phoebe, a conspiracy that hounded and threatened her. It was in Sean’s interest to pit girl against girl, to isolate Phoebe, the outsider who moved there from Ireland only a few months earlier, and he did so with cynical gusto, enlisting others to do the dirty work.

He enlisted a girl named Ashley Longe, who seemed to relish hurling insults and, on the day Phoebe killed herself, an energy drink can at Phoebe.

Moments before that can came hurling out the window of a passing car, as Phoebe walked home to the house where she would hang herself, Kayla and Sean laughed after Ashley shouted abuse at Phoebe in the school library.

They laughed at Phoebe’s misery, her vulnerability, her humiliation. Kayla and Sean were the popular kids. They had the power.

One of Phoebe’s last text messages, read out by her mother, Anne O’Brien, in court, was foreboding: “I think Sean condoning this is one of the final nails in my coffin.’’

A few days later, Phoebe was in that coffin, and Anne O’Brien stared down at her beautiful girl, her beautiful Phoebe. She had to hold her. One more time.

“I lifted her from the coffin and held her for the very last time,’’ Anne O’Brien told the court. “My little girl, once so full of life, was now so cold.’’

Cold would be a good word to describe Sean Mulveyhill, the kid who could have nipped all this in the bud, had he been half the leader in the hallways that he was on the football field.

He took his punishment — if you can call probation and 100 hours of community service punishment — with the same lack of empathy that got him into trouble in the first place. He said nothing about Phoebe. He said nothing to her mother.

Kayla got the same punishment, but wept. Maybe she was crying for herself. Maybe she was crying for Phoebe. Maybe she was crying for all of us.

“I’m sorry, Phoebe,’’ she said, still talking to the dead girl. “I allowed my emotions to spiral into acts of unkindness.’’

The what-ifs weren’t the only questions yesterday. O’Brien asked a question that hung in the air, like Phoebe’s spirit.

“How,’’ O’Brien asked, “do you measure a future lost?’’

Obama decided not to release Bin Laden photos

>> Wednesday, May 4, 2011

WASHINGTON (KABC) -- A U.S. official said Wednesday that President Barack Obama has decided against releasing photos of Osama Bin Laden's body.

Obama made the decision not to release the photos because of concern about a potential backlash that results in attacks against Americans, an official told ABC News.

According to ABC News, Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton advised the president about concerns at the Pentagon and State Department that releasing a photograph could prompt a backlash against the U.S. for killing Bin Laden where one does not seem to currently exist.

The feeling at the White House is that there are few people, even in the Muslim world, who believe that bin Laden is still alive, and releasing the photo could do more harm than good.

"The only skeptics to bin Laden's death are extremists, and they wouldn't be convinced by a photograph. So the president has to weigh the potential negatives. And there's a tremendous risk of the photo becoming a rallying cry for attacks against U.S. soldiers, government personnel, and Americans in general," one U.S. official said.

Peru leader credits B. Pope John Paul II with bin Laden death

>> Monday, May 2, 2011

This is an interesting comment from the president of Peru and my initial thought was "why not?" This is not hard to believe since the past week was the celebration of the Feast of Divine Mercy, a feast which Pope John Paul II initiated per the revelations of Jesus to Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska, the Polish saint. It is a Mercy described as an infinite ocean.

“Today bring to Me all mankind, especially all sinners, and immerse them in the ocean of My mercy. In this way you will console Me in the bitter grief into which the loss of souls plunges Me.”

Peru leader credits late pope for bin Laden death
The Associated Press
Posted: 05/02/2011 10:33:10 AM PDT

LIMA, Peru—Peruvian President Alan Garcia says Pope John Paul II should get credit for the death of Osama bin Laden.
The late pope was beatified on Sunday and Garcia says: "His first miracle was to remove from the world the incarnation of evil, the demonic incarnation of crime and hatred, giving us the news that the person who blew up towers and buildings is no longer."

Garcia made the comment Monday as he inaugurated a hydroelectric power station.

Garcia also says bin Laden's death also vindicates President George W. Bush's decision "to punish Bin Laden and patiently continue this work that has born fruit."
